Grower Profile

Jorge F. Naimeg leads his family’s legacy in coffee cultivation, deeply rooted in the Cerrado Mineiro since the 1980s. Stemming from the union of Gerson Naimeg and Hercília Mafra in 1957, the family’s dedication spans generations. Gerson’s pursuit of coffee cultivation began in Paraná, only to thrive further upon migrating to Cerrado Mineiro due to harsh frosts in the 1980s. With the inclusion of his children, the Naimeg Group emerged, fostering a familial bond deeply intertwined with coffee’s essence.

The family’s presence on the farm, with all the Naimeg brothers being present at all stages and closely following everything that happens, is something that makes the Naimeg family’s coffee production unique.

Farm

Nestled amidst the untamed beauty of the Serra da Canastra, Fazenda Pantano thrives under the watchful gaze of the tropical seasonal climate. Here, where the rhythm of the seasons dictates the ebb and flow of life, the land yields its bounty with grace. From the warmth of summer to the chill of winter, the farm’s microclimate fosters the perfect conditions for coffee cultivation, shaping the very essence of its terroir. Acquired amid the challenges of Gerson Naimeg’s migration, the farm stands as a testament to the family’s indomitable spirit. Amidst verdant pastures and rolling hills, the Naimeg legacy continues to evolve, woven into the fabric of the land they call home.

As stewards of the land, the Naimeg Group envisions a future where Fazenda Pantano stands as a beacon of innovation and sustainability in the Cerrado Mineiro region. Fuelled by a spirit of exploration, they continue to push the boundaries of tradition, embracing new varieties and techniques to elevate their craft. With every harvest, they chart a course towards a brighter, more sustainable future, where the legacy of their family’s journey lives on.

Cultural treatments and meticulous planning guide the Naimeg Group’s production, ensuring the health and quality of their crops. From the evaluation of previous harvests to soil and leaf analysis, every decision is made with precision. The harvest, scheduled in April, prioritizes plots with early ripening varieties and quality history. Mechanized harvesters expedite the process, while selective harvesting preserves the integrity of the beans.

Post-harvest, the fruits harvested are swiftly transported for processing, with options including Natural, Pulped Natural, and Fermented methods. Sustainable practices underscore the group’s commitment to environmental stewardship and employee well-being, with continuous audits ensuring compliance with national and international standards. As they look towards the future, the Naimeg Group envisions becoming a reference in the Cerrado Mineiro region, producing exclusive and tailor-made special coffees that meet the diverse demands of the market.

“Our work is similar to that of haute couture in the great tailors. We understand that as in haute couture, the world of coffee searches for unique, authentic products of origin, with guaranteed quality, and of course, valuing our history and the union of our family” Naimeg family.
